Welcome to Morning Light Counseling.org! This online mental health resource library, created by Carrie Maxwell Wrigley, LCSW, contains information designed to help you help you find effective, practical solutions to problems such as depression, anxiety, pornography addiction, and marital conflict. It is also designed to point you to resources that can create more resilience, wellness, and joy in life. This online resource library can function for you in several different ways:
1) As an adjunct to counseling. Self-help resources can greatly expedite the process of therapy - saving time and money, and helping you and your therapist to identify the most efficient, effective road to recovery.
2) For self-help. Many people find that when they have the right information in their hands, they can set in motion some significant growth in themselves and in their families - even if they're not in professional counseling at the time.
3) For helping others. Many find that, though they may not be struggling themselves, they can be helped by educating themselves about struggles afflicting others - so they may be useful in providing support, direction, and understanding - whether as a friend, family member, church leader, or colleague.
4) For professional helpers, students, and interns. Professional counselors, teachers, health care professionals, and others are called upon to guide and assist others as part of their daily work. For these, the information in this site can be a helpful reference - both to guide their own efforts, and to be a direct resource they can refer to those they serve.
One of the richest resources on the site is an online Bookstore, with hundreds titles hand-picked by Carrie to be helpful to her clients, students, and others seeking practical help on a wide range of issues. Organized by topic, and powered by Amazon.com, this dynamic resource will point you to "the best of the best" in mental health and relationship-building literature.
The site continues to be a work in progress, with new resources being added all the time. If you have a particular question, need, or request for information you'd like to see reflected on the site, please Contact us. Feedback from users helps us to prioritize what information to add next to the site. Better yet, if you become aware of a great book, article, link, video, or other resource you believe would be helpful for visitors to this site, please forward that information to us so we can post it on the site, where it can uplift and inform others.
We hope you will find this Online Resource Library helpful - for yourself, and for your loved ones. Browse and enjoy! |
